Mr. Robert Watt is the President of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq, a position he was appointed to in December 2017. Former Co-Director of the Inuit Sub-Commission of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission from 2008 to 2012, Mr. Watt has extensive experience in leadership roles with Indigenous organizations. He was President of the Avataq Cultural Institute from 1998 to 2001 and Director of Ajunnginiq, the Inuit service hub of the National Aboriginal Health Organization, from 2001 to 2003. Mr. Watt worked as Assistant to the Corporate Secretary with the Makivik Corporation, in 2012-2013. In his home town of Kuujjuaq he is also a renowned baker. However, with much of his time devoted to the Nunavik education system, his scones, cinnamon rolls and bannock have become a rare and precious commodity these days. Mr. Watt holds a Bachelor of Science, Microbiology and Zoology from the University of Manitoba.
