ABOUT THIS EDITION

The Inflection Point

We are living at a moment of profound uncertainty, a time where rapid technological change, deepening social and ecological crises, and growing political polarization are reshaping how we live, work and learn. These forces are straining our school systems, challenging long‑held assumptions about purpose, practice, and responsibility. The question is no longer whether education must change, but how? And in whose interests?

The 2026-2027 edition of Education Canada explores education at this crossroads: how systems can evolve—collectively, intentionally, and courageously—to support holistic human development and democratic futures in an AI‑enabled world.
