K-12 Workplace Wellbeing Advisors
In fall 2021, Well at Work Advisors began supporting school districts to integrate workplace wellbeinginto their learning environment. The advisors work alongside school district wellness leads, teams, orsenior staff to help them achieve their unique goals. Their focus is on building districts’ capacity to makeand sustain system-level changes that support the wellbeing of their staff.
Advisors listen to district stakeholders to identify wellbeing themes and dynamics, help the district better understand their data, and use their knowledge, skills and insights to help increase the impact of districtinitiatives and accelerate their progress. Advisors also facilitate and develop professional learning that builds school districts’ knowledge and skills to support workplace wellbeing.
We are currently looking to expand our team of advisors to include a greater range of identities, lived experiences and perspectives.

Qualifications
- Experience as a senior school district or union leader, with a direct working knowledge of school staffroles and dynamics.
- Experience in coaching or mentoring adults in a professional
- Knowledge of workplace wellbeing and related topics such as psychological safety, occupational health and safety and/or diversity, equity and inclusion.
Preferred skills and qualities
- Relationship builder: Skilled at building relationships and trust with school district leaders and staffin various
- Fosters engagement: Supports interactive approaches that encourage meaningful engagement.
- Analyst: Assesses district culture, context, data and other factors to inform the approach.
- Facilitator: Facilitates meetings, professional learning and engagement A neutralparty who can raise sensitive topics.
- Collaborator: Works collaboratively with other advisors and the Well at Work team, sharing knowledge and insights, documenting findings and contributing to shared learning.
- Can-do attitude: Able to solve problems and deal with day-to-day technical and administrative issues with limited support.

Our advisors have senior leadership experience in a school district or union and a commitment to fostering wellbeing. In addition to making a meaningful contribution to K-12 education, they value the connection to school district and EdCan colleagues across the country and flexible work arrangements that also allow them to travel, spend time with family and pursue other passions.
- Challenging and meaningful assignments: Work with school districts across the country to support their workplace wellbeing journey.
- Flexibility: Advisors work part-time and on an episodic basis, so you can control when and how much you work.
- Choice: Have a say what kind of assignments you work on. Are you more interested in working closely with a school district, or do you prefer facilitating professional learning – or do you want to try both?
- Virtual: Most advisor work is done virtually. Occasionally there are opportunities to facilitate professional learning in person, which you can choose to do or not.
