Dr. Souhail Soujah is an educator with many years of experience. He started his career in Education as an Educational Assistant in BC and moved through the system to his current position as the Superintendent of the South Slave Divisional Education Council in the NT. His passion for education and learning is anchored in his concern and care for the socio-emotional and mental well-being of students and communities in the North. His tenure in the Yukon and the NT as a Principal and Superintendent has taught him humility and an appreciation for Indigenous ways of knowing, doing and being. He has published and spoken on many educational topics Nationally and Internationally. He lives by the words that “a society grows great when we plant trees whose shade we know we shall never enjoy”.
