Charity Tegler
Director of Indigenous Learning and Equity, Foothills School Division
Charity Tegler is a passionate leader of Truth and Reconciliation, serving as the Director of Indigenous Learning and Equity at Foothills School Division. A proud member of the Otipemisiwak Metis Government within the Metis Nation of Alberta, Charity’s heritage is richly woven through her family names: Tegler, L’hirondelle, Larocque, Belcourt, Courtereille, Rowand, and Nipissing. Charity is an influential voice on the Premier’s Council for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two Spirit Plus, where she actively works to address and advocate for the pressing needs of Indigenous communities. Her work is guided by a profound belief in the power of education as a tool for Truth and Reconciliation.
