Alan Sears has been a social studies teacher for more than 45 years and has taught all levels from grade two through graduate school. His teaching and scholarly work focus on civic, history, and diversity education and the intersections between and among those. His latest book written with Carla L. Peck Rescuing Reason: How History Education Can Help Save Democracy will be published in March 2026.
