Yvan Brochu

Dr. Yvan Brochu is a retired award-winning Principal with over 12 years experience in administration. He is a long-time equity, diversity and inclusion advocate. Along with serving on Hamilton’s Anti-Racism Resource Centre Board of Directors, he has served provincially with the Ontario Principals’ Council Professional Learning Focus Group, their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee, their Strategic Planning and Truth and Reconciliation Committees, as well as serving locally as the OPC EDI secondary representative, and on the 2019 Teaching Nelson Mandela Advisory Committee, developing curriculum resources for Canadian educator.. He chaired a school vision process within Hamilton (ON) which led to the 2017 Premier’s Award for Accepting Schools for a vision focused on human rights, as well as having 5 years’ experience early on in an Indigenous context. He also serves as a consultant, conference presenter, and as an adjunct faculty instructor with Queen’s University, along with the Ontario Principals’ Council.
