Dr. Dimitrios Pavlounis
Director of Research, CIVIX
Dr. Dimitrios Pavlounis is Director of Research at CIVIX, where he helps oversee program design and resource development and leads the organization’s research initiatives, including program evaluation. In 2021, he led the design and development of an evaluation of the organization’s digital media literacy program, which included a baseline assessment of Canadian students’ ability to evaluate online information. More recently, he led the development of Civics on the Sidelines, a report on the state of civic education in Canada based on a national survey of educators. Prior to joining CIVIX, he obtained his PhD in media studies from the University of Michigan.
