Building Resilience in Schools: From Brain Science to Practice
The Resilience Scale, developed by the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative, offers a practical framework for understanding how adversity, positive supports, and skills and abilities interact to influence physical and mental health. It can be used to understand and assess individual resilience, map programs and services within organizations, and identify opportunities to strengthen supports across systems.
In this engaging presentation, the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative team will explore the science of brain development and how education systems are applying the Resilience Scale to strengthen supports and improve outcomes for students and staff. Through practical examples and new resources, discover how the Resilience Scale Framework can help identify opportunities to build resilience and enhance wellbeing across your school community.
