The EdCan Network is a national charitable organization dedicated to supporting the work of education professionals by bridging the gap between research and practice and translating evidence into usable knowledge that can be applied in schools and school systems. We curate, synthesize and mobilize research and practical expertise through the publication of Education Canada articles, fact sheets, reports, and EdCan’s virtual event series. EdCan’s editorial committee guides the direction of Education Canada and related publications and events to ensure content is relevant, engaging and useful for Canadian K-12 education professionals.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
The EdCan Network is seeking 2-3 additional members to add diversity to the editorial committee. Specifically, we are seeking education professionals with experience working in rural, remote and northern regions and in francophone education systems. Key responsibilities of the editorial committee include:
- Identifying key topics to cover in Education Canada
- Identifying potential authors and co-authors to approach on identified topics
- Reviewing unsolicited submissions for alignment with current and emerging priorities
COMMITMENT REQUIRED
The editorial committee meets virtually every 6-8 weeks to review the editorial plan, confirm emerging priorities, and consider potential authors to approach. In addition to the meetings, editorial board members review and provide feedback on unsolicited submissions.
The working language for the meeting is generally English, however content is reviewed in both languages and bilingual participation can be supported.
