EdCan is seeking an Administrative Manager to lead day-to-day operations, ensuring strong financial management and operational efficiency. In this role, your ability to juggle multiple responsibilities is essential to supporting EdCan’s mission and vision.

All staff, Board and Advisory Council, strategic partners, supplier network, and other contacts as required
JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Manager plays a key role responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position ensures financial sustainability through sound planning, budgeting, reporting, and oversight of financial processes. The Administrative Manager also plays a critical role in optimizing operational efficiency.
JOB TYPE
This position is a 0.8 Full-Time Equivalent (32 hours per week), starting June 2025.
Salary
$68,000 – $76,000 annually
LOCATION
This is a remote work position, open to individuals who reside in the province of Ontario and are legally entitled to work in Canada.
KEY DUTIES & REsponsibilities
Financial
- Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including overall financial oversight, monitoring and business planning activities
- Lead and support organizational budgeting process
- Maintain all financial records and contracts
- Support and advise the Executive Director in decision making
- Ensure that relevant financial data is presented to the Executive Director, Treasurer and Board
Administration & Operations
- Oversee risk management and legal activities: letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements
- Oversee business insurance: procurement, monitoring and management
- Maintain the organization’s various business registrations
- Manage Information technology to ensure the ongoing maintenance and updating of information systems, including hardware, software and the applicable service provider
- Work with the Executive Director to provide support and guidance to the Board and Advisory Council
- Manage and oversee the human resource function including the maintenance of employee files, benefit plans, vacation and sick leave.
- Oversee event management and negotiations with vendors (Hotel, A/V, etc.)
Database Management
- Maintain database files and review/revise system procedures for data integrity. Database files include membership, member prospects, advertisers, event attendees, board/council members, and other education stakeholders
- Record financial related activities in database of education stakeholders outlined above
- Prepare detailed extractions from the database to support the activities of the organization.
Project Management – Digital Advertising Sales
- Coordinate with the advertising sales representative and manage ad insertion orders, artwork submissions, ad placements and invoicing of advertisers
- Track analytics of online publications
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
Experience / Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a management role in a non-profit organization with a strong background in operational / administrative management
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis
- Previous experience overseeing human resources, information technology and legal
- Previous experience in managing government relations is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and QuickBooks (or other financial management software)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Ability to read, write and engage in conversation in French is an asset.
